                "description": "P.Oslo I 5: Amulet\r\nA Christian amulet for protection of a house and its inhabitants from evil forces, calling upon various powers including the Artemisian Scorpion and Christ the Lord, born by the Holy Virgin Maria.\r\nChristian symbols and cryptograms: \u03c7\u03bc\u03b3 at the top in heavier ink; Amen \/ two \u03b1-\u03c9 sequences (one in cursive hand, the other in angular epigraphic letters) between three crosses of different shapes (simple cross, crux ansata or staurogram) \/ acrostic \u0399\u03a7\u0398\u03a5\u03a3 at the bottom. See De Bruyn 2017: 94-95.\r\nRegular, informal semi-cursive hand that could have served for copying books; use of organic and inorganic diaeresis; text written across the fibres.\r\nCase of modern repair: mended, surely by a modern dealer, by pasting scraps from another papyrus on the back, which is otherwise blank. See Hickey, Maravela & Zellmann-Rohrer 2015: 170-171.\r\nP.Palau. Rib. inv. 126 has been compared to this amulet, also including i.a. \u0392\u03b1\u03b9\u03bd\u03c7\u03c9\u03c9\u03c9\u03c9\u03c7.",
