                "description": "I.Wadi Haggag 242: Acclamation.Five lines written in square majuscule, reading: \"One God who helps Oualerios son of Antigonos, strategos. 3rd indiction\". Palm branches on l. 2 and l. 5. No initial cross.\r\nThe editor suggests that this inscription is Jewish as he would rather see a menorah in the palm branch l. 2 (see discussion \u2013 Negev 1977: 64). There is also a puzzling sequence of letters at the end of l. 1: he suggests reading the Greek letters from right to left \u03b8(\u03b5\u1f78\u03c2) \u1f5d(\u03c8\u03b9\u03c3\u03c4\u03bf\u03c2), with dalet letter in the middle for the beginning of \"One\" \u2013 but specifies that this shortened form has never been used before. Lajtar 1992 suggests rather reading the numeral 499 (\u03a5\u03d8\u0398), which is an isopsephy for \u0395\u1f37\u03c2 \u03b8\u03b5\u1f79\u03c2, and has no doubt about the Christian character of this inscription.",
