O.Trim. 2 819; O.Amheida inv. 13253: Account The ostracon (6.9 x 11.0 cm) lists the names Father Amm[onios], Zosimos, Kome[…], Zos[imos], Bake[…], Ammonios, Iakob, Athanasios, Philokyrios, Eutropios and Klaudios. According to the ed.pr., πατήρ is not used in any secular title known from this period (see Bagnall/Cribiore 2012, 409–416 for the possibility that this is an ecclesiastical or monastic title, like the Pachomian use of “father” of a monastery (μονή)). Father Ammonios appears in O.Amheida inv. 16596 (unpublished), again receiving wine, found with other material of B1’s occupation period; in that ostracon, the line preceding his name, namely wine given “for Sunday” (εἰς τὴν κυριακήν) increases the likelihood that this may be a monastic title. O.Kellis 120 also contains πατήρ as a title, however following the name Ἡλιόδωρος, not preceding it.",
