XXXI 2597, P.Oxy. 31 2597: Letter from Kephalion to Heraklas Kephalion writes this letter (11.5 x 15.3 cm) from Alexandria, where he has presented  \u1f00να[φ\u03ccρι]α (“petitions, proposals”, line 3-4) to the prefect. Apparently, he is there in the interest of the recipient Heraklas, since he mentions Heraklas’ opponent (\u1f00ντ\u03afδι[κος], line 6-7) is making petitions, to which Kephalion must offer counter-petitions. Time is short since the prefect will be leaving for Hermopolis on 1 Hathyr. Heraklas is therefore asked to provide Kephalion with 40 drachmae, and to ask his son for another 40 drachmae, to last Kephalion the coming months. The verso addresses the letter to Heraklas πρεσ[β]υτ(\u03adρ\u1ff3).",
