                "description": "PSI 8 972, SB 12 10841: Letter from Antoninos to Gonatas\u00a0The letter on this square sheet (15 x 16 cm) is nearly complete, but at times hard to understand due to the spelling and grammatical mistakes. Gonatas is addressed as \u03ba\u03c5\u03c1\u03af\u1ff3 \u03bc\u03bf\u03c5 \u1f00\u03b4\u03b5\u03bb\u03c6\u1ff7 (line 1) and as \u03b3\u03b5\u03bf\u1fe6\u03c7\u03bf\u03c2 (\u201clandowner\u201d, line 1). He receives well-wishes \u03c0\u03b1\u03c1\u1f70 [[\u03c0\u03b1\u03c1\u03b1]] \u03c4\u1ff7 \u03ba\u03c5(\u03c1\u03af\u1ff3) \u03b8(\u03b5)\u1ff7 \u1f45\u03c0\u03c9\u03c2 (line 3). The topic of the letter is an altercation that had taken place between Antoninos, a Tithoes and the camel-driver Panther (possibly employed by Gonatas). Antoninos vehemently defends himself and refers to the long friendship (\u03c4\u1f74\u03bd \u03c6\u03b9\u03bb\u03b5\u03af\u03b1\u03bd \u03c3\u03bf\u03c5 \u03c4\u1f74\u03bd \u1f00\u03c1\u03c7\u03b5\u0342[\u03b1]\u03bd, line 9\u201310) he has had with Gonatas, which he wishes to maintain. Gonatas also figures as the recipient of P.Oxy. 10 1298 (Ammon to Gonatas, 4th c.) and P. Horak 19 (dated to the early 4th c.).",
