The fragment probably belonged to a book roll, due to the lack of writing on the verso. The hand is described as "awkward and gawky", and would have pointed to a composition as early as the Roman period, but the date is necessarily pushed to the 4th c. due to the textual content; see ed. pr.
This fragment is the earliest attestation of the text of Dioscorus the Martyr and his persecution in Cynopolis. The text is complemented by much later Syriac (5/6 c.) and Latin (12/13 c.) parallels; see the ed. pr.
The text presents the beginning dialogue between Culcian and Dioscorus. The scene would have taken place in 306/307 Cynopolis (cf. l. 1 "Διο]κλητιανοῦ and the complete date in the Syriac parallell; see ed. pr.). This particular witness omits the short exchange between the clerk and the prefect which is found in the parallel texts; see ed. pr.",
