Description | Woven fragment of a larger linen textile piece, decorated with a red crux ansata and, inside the loop of the crux and a second circle made of dark purple wool, a staurogram in a dark green hue. This decoration suggests that the garment to which the fragment belonged was liturgical, likely an altar cloth (for parallels see El-Sayed, Lakomy, Ehler, Fluck, Herzberg-Beiersdorf and Zorn 2021). |
