Description | P.Kellis II Gr. 94: Short praise addressed to a divinity, probably Manichaean context. Wooden board (82 x 50 mm) inscribed on both sides, with two holes drilled in upper and lower corner before text was added. Ed.pr. suggested that it may have been intended as an amulet. Ed.pr. noted that the terminology was not distinct enough to pinpoint the exact religious context, but a subsequent reading of the text by N. Gonis and C. E. Römer indicates that the addressee can probably be identified as the Father of Greatness, the head of the Manichaean pantheon. |
