Description | P.Mich X 596: Certificate for work on the dikes. Acknowledgement by the official Aurelius Ptoleminos that he has received naubia from Amaeis, deacon – most likely the same person as the Amaeis, deacon of P.Col. VII 167. The certificate is issued by Ptoleminos but Timotheos has written for him as he is illiterate. The papyrus may have been part of one roll, which was cut up after its finding. See Bagnall-Worp 1984. Recto is written in a large cursive hand, running across the fibres. Verso is blank. |
