Description | P.Harr. I 94; P. Mich. XX App. B 3: 181-182 no. 3: Account of Freights. A list of cargoes loaded on boats, with the names of the shipowners, and, except in the first case, of the skippers. Among the owners are a councillor, the secretary of a dux, a bishop's son, Apollonios, son of Dionysios, episkopos, and Ammôn, priest. According to N. Gonis, Apollonius, son of bishop Dionysius is not known otherwise, but his father may be the bishop known from P.Oxy. XXII 2344, of the early 350s (cf. BL X 14), see Gonis 2003: 165 and Gonis 2006; and also P.Mich. XVIII 767. Other bishops as shipowners in P.Oxy. XXXIV 2729, P.Col. VII 160 and 161. First three lines written in a different ink, probably at an earlier time than the rest, but in the same hand. |
