Description

P.Oxy. LXXXII 5309: Amulet against illness

Complete on all sides. Amulet for Apis, son of Tesmous.  Nothing distinctively Christian except for a staurogram [or crux ansata? VS] on the last line, preceding the common formula "tachy tachy" (Quick quick!).

Recto: Written in a semi-cursive hand, carelessly executed but not inexpert; running along the fibres.

Verso: blank.
