I 1: Amulet The word staphyllotomos is repeated in thirteen consecutive lines of writing and is written in such a way that, by progressively removing the first letter at the beginning of each line, it can be read both horizontally and vertically, according to a particular sloping effect; it thus produces a magical triangle. In the last line, after the last remaining sigma, three crosses. The script runs along the fibres; the back is blank. |
