Description

P.Messeri 42: Contract (lease)

Fragment of a sheet of papyrus preserving the upper left part of an agreement between two persons from Oxyrhynchos. According to the ed., there is a cross – but very faint – before the (incomplete) post-consular formula, on l. 1. An initial serifed cross is indeed visible upon close examination of the papyrus, although it must have been written with a different ink than the rest of the text, an ink that faded away.

Written along the fibres. Verso is blank.
