Description

P.Oxy. LXV 4444, Rahlfs 856: Sapientia Salomonis 4,17–5,1
The fragment (8,7 x 8,6 cm) stems from the lower outer corner of a single-column vellum codex and contains parts of Book of Wisdom 4,17-19 and 4,19-5,1. Remains of 12 of the original 17 lines per page are still visible on each side. The complete text covered 9 x 7 cm, a page in total measured ca. 14 x 11 cm. Written in a Biblical Uncial, lines were arranged by colon with indentations. No punctuation apart from a double point on line 6 of the recto. Nomina sacra with supralinear stroke (κς). Corresponds to Codex Vaticanus apart from line 6 on the verso, which reads ἐξελέγξει instead of ἐλέγξει (4,20). The ed.pr. notes similarities to the hand of P.Berl. 5011.
