Description | P.Nag Hamm. 79: Letter Two fragments from the center of a letter which begins with a mention of one Pathermouthis and request (unsure nature). The concluding part consists of greetings to various "brothers". Final greetings: "I pray for your health in the lord". Recto: written along fibres. Verso: blank. |

Archaeological context | The leather covers of eight of the twelve Nag Hammadi codices found in a sealed jar by Egyptian agricultural workers in 1945 (see ID 23) had been strengthened by cartonnage made of waste papyri. This papyrus comes from the richest of these cartonnages, codex VII. |
