Description

P.Kellis I 58: fragment of an agreement.

Mutilated fragment of a Greek contract that does not contain sufficient elements to establish its original nature precisely; but it mentions "a priest of the 'catholic' church" as a witness (Αὐρήλιος Ἁρπ]ο̣κράτης πρεσβύτερος καθολικῆς ἐκκλησ̣[ίας) which, in the year 337 is interesting, as it is the earliest occurrence in the Kellis papyri and early in the papyri in general.

The writing runs parallel with the fibres; the back is blank.
