Description

P.Bal. I 2; P.Bodl. I 1

Parchment fragment from a miniature codex containing Exodus 4:4-6.

The folio measures 8.9 x 7 cm, and preserves 12 lines of text (in one column) on both recto and verso. The text contains several diaereses and nomina sacra.

A numerical delta occurs above the column on the recto, numbering the quire (there are no page numbers on the fragment); see ed. pr.

The text agrees largely with Codex B, from which it diverges in two variants:

Ex 4:5: κ(υριό)ς ὁ θ(εό)ς in agreement with A, F and M against Codex B ὁ θ(εό)ς.
Ex 4:6: τὴ χεῖρα (with MSS b and w) against Codices A and B, which add αὐτοῦ.

The hand is described as a sloping, formal majuscule ("squared" added in ed. pr.)
