DEChriM’s first ERC-funded fieldwork was geared towards photogrammetric recording and collection of archaeological data. Our trip took place in December 2019 and was focused on the oases of Kharga and Dakhla. A visit at Ansina, ancient Antinoopolis, allowed us to establish a collaboration with the SCA inspectorate in Minya for future joint excavations in the section of Ansina that is under the responsibility of the Inspectorate of Copto-Islamic antiquities.
