| Description | SEG XXXIV 1529: Dedication by Geron Opus sectile emblem (dim.: 35 x 41 cm) of which the main motif is a myrtle wreath fitted into a square frame, in the centre of which is a large crux monogrammatica (staurogram). The panel is extended to the sides by additional frame pieces and an incised dedication was placed underneath by someone named Geron. What was dedicated by this Geron, however, is not stated (Grossmann 1984: 127-128). |

| Archaeological context | Found during excavations led by the Deutschen Archäologischen Institut Kairo at Abū Mīnā (Spring of 1983), in the presbyterium of the Small Basilica (or Crypt Church). The opus sectile piece was found lying on the bottom of a pit excavated below the floor of the presbyterium; this same pit was partly covered by the marble slab SEG 32-1567, which was also embedded in the floor of the presbyterium. |
