Description | Aldumairy 2007, fig. 54: Decorated stela reading "Farewell to the spirit (pneuma) of Eulogios and Taoia, his mother, slave of Jesus-Christ, 60 years old --. Lord, save their souls". Three other lines were added later, partially outside the original frame, maybe with the date now lost. The text, painted in red ink, is framed in a square tabula, surrounded by geometrical and floral decorations. |

Archaeological context | Found in the Roman cemetery (mainly dated 1st-3rd c.) of Bilād al-Rūm during excavations conducted between 1997 and 2003 by the Sīwa Antiquities Inspectorate. The stele was found broken in several fragments, which were subsequently restored in Sīwa. Associated with two other Christian steles: ID 1255 and 1256. |
