Description	Codex of the Manichean Synaxeis (PAThs works 862) in Coptic (L), now in Dublin (125 leaves) and Berlin (31 leaves). Containing quotations from Mani’s Living Gospel, the most important of the seven canonical works composed by Mani, the text was either a commentary or a service book with gospel readings arranged according to the year. State of preservation even more deplorable than that of the other Manichaean codices and hence so far unpublished. There has been some confusion over the identity of parts of this manuscript after the war (Robinson 2013).

Archaeological context	Also known as Codex B, the manuscript was acquired from an unnamed dealer from the Fayyum in 1930 and was supposedly found at Madīnat Māḍī (Robinson 2013: 58-59). It is part of a group of seven Manichaean manuscripts sharing the same origin. It was purchased by Chester Beatty and Carl Smith in 1930 and 1931. Chester Beatty’s acquisition includes the second volume of the Kephalaia, the larger portion of the Synaxeis, a smaller portion of the Homilies, and the Psalms in two parts. Most of the rest of the fragments were bought by Carl Schmidt for the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin.
