Description | I.Oasis p. 80 no. 2; SB XX 14880; SEG LXII 1733; SEG XXXVIII 1686: Monumental inscription. Large block of sandstone that is the left part only of a lintel (l. 95 x w. 50 x th. 26 cm) with one line of a mutilated monumental inscription with an invocation of the Lord for an emperor. Below it, a serifed cross with six branches. Archaeological context | Seen in 1975 lying on the ground not far away from the remains of the ancient temple of Mūṭ (Wagner 1976: 288 and Wagner 1987: 80). In the early 2000s, the block was kept next to the Hibis temple, in Madīnat al-Ḫāriǧa, where it was photographed by V. Ghica. |
