| Description | P.Monts.Roca IV 84: Loan contract Papyrus fragment featuring the left hand upper side of a contract The top and left margins are preserved. It preserves part of a receipt of a loan involving an amount of barley which would presumably indicate that the document is actually a sale on delivery: an amount of money was borrowed and the borrower promised to return this in kind by a delivery of barley. The borrower apparently comes from the Oxyrhynchite nome. Recto: cursive hand running along the papyrus fibres. Verso: faint traces of 1 line of text written along the fibres, probably title of document. According to ed., a cross precedes it. |
