Dating criteria | Palaeography; according to the ed.pr., the title praefectus Augustalis was first held by Flavius Eutolmius Tatianus in 367 CE. Mention of Pelusium further indicates the letter may date before the creation of the province Arcadia (founded before 411 CE), when Oxyrhynchus and Pelusium both belonged to the province Augustamnica (founded 341). |
