Description | SB X 10522: fragmentary letter from a monk. The first part of the letter is lost so that we don't know the identity of the recipient but the address on the back of the letter indicates that the letter was written by a certain Andreas, probably a monk. He mentions the "very virtuous and distinguished brother Biktor" and thanks the addressee for having recommended "the little one" so that he could go to Alexandria to study, and asks for more support. The final greetings are addressed to "your holiness" and to "our most pious father Apa Iohannes", also from "everyone in your holy monastery". Text written across the fibres on the recto (transversa charta). Final staurogram. Address on the verso. |
