| Description | P.Lond. VI 1916: Request for help in the Melitian community. A joint letter from Herieous and Moses addressed to the priest Paieous and the Melitian community. The subject is the same as that of P.Lond. VI 1915 concerning a fellow member of the community, Pamonthes, who had to borrow a large sum of money which he was unable to pay back and had his children carried off by the creditors. Herieous and Moses are asking for help in collecting money.
Recto is written across fibres (transversa charta), with a first postscript in the left margin, written from top to bottom (along fibres). On the verso, also across fibres, there is a second postscript, from Herieous to Paieous. Same style and hand as P.Lond. VI 1915. |
