| Description | P.Oxy. XIII 1601; KV65 Fragment containing a variety of Old and New Testament texts written in brown ink, and contains a plentitude of abbreviations in documentary style (abbreviated by an elongated stroke); see ll. 24, 28, 29, and 30. Previously believed to contain a text of Origenes, but this has since been contested; see Mcnamee 1973: 28-51. The text is probably a patristic homily or commentary on the minor prophet Joel, possibly an Origenean work on Joel; see Blumell /Wayment 2015: 366. The text quotes Joel 1:6 and 1:8; Paulus Ephesians 6:12; The First Epistle of Peter 5:8, and Hosea 3:3. |
