| Description | P.Oxy. LXIV 4402; Gregory-Aland P102; 𝔓102 A small papyrus fragments containing parts of the Gospel of Matthew 4:11, 12 and 22-23. The fragment is rather small, and has preserved two lines of text on both sides of the papyrus. Sequentially, the recto (Matt 4:11-12) appears to precede the verso (Matt 4.22-23). The hand is rather geometric and reminiscent of, although not totally compatible with, the severe style; see ed. pr. The scribe does not seem to have adhered strictly to bilinearity, yet the script is ostensibly upright and there can be seen only one mark of punctuation (a mid-point) following αὐτῷ on the recto (and possibly traces of a second mid-point following the [αὐ]τῷ of the verso); see ed. pr. In l. 5 (verso) there is a horizontal bar to the left of the epsilon - its purpose is uncertain; see ed. pr. |
