| Description | P.Kellis II 92; P.Kellis Gr. 92 Three fragments from a small bifolio (ca. 4,5 cm x 7,5 cm) containing a Manichean hymn of praise. The ed. pr. notes that the text appears self-contained, i.e., not stemming from a codex or a quire, and suggests that it served as an amulet. The connection to the Manichean belief is made, i.a., by the recurring reference to the Godfather as "hidden"; see ed. pr. The text begins with an eisthesis (indentation) in l. 1 and features line dividers in l. 9/10 and 46/47. It contains several nomina sacra as well as a possibly abbreviated καί in l. 16, and there are instances of diaeresis as well as minor corrections throughout the fragment. The verso (pages 2-3) is badly effaced. |
