Description | I.Oasis p. 65 no. 5; SEG XXXVIII 1701: Paulinian quote North wall of the Chapel. Graffito carefully centered in a niche under the arch of the vault, below and at equal distance from the two openings. It reproduces, without any fault, in a large and round hand, Paul's apostrophe to the Romans: "If God is with us, who can be against us?" (Rom. 8, 31). There were crosses over the two triangular niches on the west wall that are now destroyed (Fakhry 1951: 140 and pl. XLII, 107 B). |
