| Description | Gregory-Aland 0188; Uncial 0188 Parchment fragment containing the Second Gospel of Mark 11:11-17. The verso presents traces of Mark 11:21 (col. i) and 11:23-25; see Treu 1966: 24. The fragment is rather well-preserved and measures 13 x 11 cm (acc. to INTF; 13.5 x 11 cm in the ed. pr.). The textual area has been delineated by scratchings in the parchment, and the text is arranged in two columns per page. On the flesh-side, col. i contains 18 lines of text; col. ii, 21 lines. On the hair-side, the writing is badly effaced and is preserved in 21 lines in col. i, and in 19 lines in col. ii. The hand is a relatively upright majuscule. The scribe employs high-points for punctuation. The text furthermore contains several diaereses (as well as a diacritical line above the iota in l. 7 of col. i of the recto) and several nomina sacra. |

| Dating criteria | Palaeography. Diversely dated. The ed. pr. placed the fragment in the 7th c., which was accepted by Aland (see Aland 1969: 8). K. Treu, when identifying the additional passages of the Gospel of Mark on the verso, placed the fragment in the 4th c. or in the beginning of the 5th; see Treu 1966: 24 and for a 5th c. date, Clarysse / Orsini 2012: 472. Nestle-Aland 1994 suggested a range 300-400 and Jaroš 2006 placed it in 275-325. |
