Description

Nag Hammadi Codex XII

Papyrus codex containing a variety of Gnostic texts in Coptic (Sahidic dialect), said to have been discovered along with 12 other codices in an area near Nag Hammadi, although the precise context and circumstance of their discovery in 1945 remains unclear (Nongbri 2018, 108-115). The contents of Nag Hammadi Codex XII include: 

pp. A-B: blank and not preserved
pp. 1-39 (NHC XII, 1): Sententiae Sexti (Sentences of Sextus; CC 0690);
pp. 39-67 (NHC XII, 2): Evangelium Veritatis (Gospel of Truth; CC 0667);
pp. 67-72: (an)other(s) tractate(s) (?). 
pp. C-D: blank and not preserved.
