| Description | O.Douch V 611: Payment order Issued by Andreas instructing his lord brother Isokrates to give the nun (τ-μοναχή) Maria 1 mation of barley. Signed by Andreas (Andre) and Abraam (Abram). One Abraam son of Dio-- and Andre-- are also attested together in O.Douch III 289. The name Maria appears also in O.Douch II 67, O.Douch IV 481; and in ʿAyn al-Wāqifa: O.Waqfa 78. Another nun is in O.Douch III 190. Those are among the older mentions of nuns. |
