Description

O.Waqfa 19: Receipt

Issued by Ioannes and addressed to his "beloved father Psilis, priest", confirming the reception of two measures of wine, on account of "the very pious (eulabestatos) father Mousaios, priest".

Mousaios is the real tax payer here, whereas Psilis acts as an intermediary. About the priest Psilis, see O.Waqfa 3.

As an issuer, Ioannes is only attested in O.Douch I 34, O.Waqfa 14 and O.Waqfa 19. According to the ed. pr., the handwriting of these three texts could be the same.
