Description

P.Oslo III 162: Business letter

The sheet is made of two large fragments, not joining. One contains the top and main part of the body of the letter, whereas the other fragment, almost completely blank, contains the end of final greetings. This letter was sent by Iatrodoros to Dorotheos and concerns money matters. The writer uses the monotheistic formula "Thanks to God" (σὺν θεῷ, corrected from σὺν θω= nomen sacrum?) while suggesting he might be able to meet with Dorotheos and pay him.

Recto: Text written in a cursive hand, along the fibres.

Verso: Adress, written along the fibres.
