Description

O.Ain Turba 7: Order to supply oil.

Written on convex side of a sherd of painted amphora.

Bagnall and Tallet 2015: Order to supply oil delivered to a "presbyteros of Ptetou" (unattested locality), a priest also addressed as a "brother" (=colleague) of one Hatres and connected to one Faustianus. This Faustianus is potentially the same person as the landlord mentioned in the KAB (distinctively Christian) and in ostraca from Trimithis, which should mean, according to the ed., that a presbyteros could be part of the staff of one of the estates of Faustinaus, maybe located in Ptetou.
