Description

O.Trim. 2 491; O.Amheida inv. 13085: Memorandum for grain delivered to the camp
The complete ostracon (7.3 × 5.1 cm) contains writing on the convex side, reading: “Louichans, 4 1⁄2 artabas of sitokrithon [combined delivery of wheat and barley]. 3 artabas of barley; to the camp, 6 for Theodoros”. The name Louichans is attested for the first time here, formed from Loui and the god Chonsu. According to the ed.pr., the apostrophe after the name shows that it lacks Greek terminations.
