Description

I.Oasis p. 38-39 no. 50; SB XX 14800; SEG XXXVIII 1777: Visitor's inscription.

Four lines carefully engraved, reading: "Remember in this place, in the kathesterion, in the house of God, your servant Herakleides. One God, Jesus Christ, who helps the souls".

A θεός was scratched off; "Jesus Christ" written ΙΗ ΧΡ (chrism).

Important inscription since it gives the name of the room where the graffito was written: the kathesterion was some kind of guest room located at the entrance of the church. For a similar graffito, see I.Oasis p. 28-29, no. 7.
