Description | O.Douch II 170.8: Payment order. Issued by Horos, diadochos, instructing Peteuris to provide Ioannes with 10 annona rations of bread. This text is part of approx. 30 payment orders that were issued by the diadochos Horos and were found together, of which 16 were in a state to be published (O.Douch II 170.1-9-16 + O.Douch III 192). In two of them, the beneficiary is specified to be the optio Petros (170.11 and 170.15). The signature of Horos bears a distinctive feature in the form of the sigma. According to the editors, the diadochos would be an occasional substitute, perhaps of the optio Pachmounis here. |
