Description

O.Douch V 580: Payment order (Abraam/Agathemeros)

Order issued by Abraam optio and addressed to the epimeletes Agathemeros, instructing him to distribute 13 annona rations of bread to Isak tesserarius. Dated Tybi, 9th indiction.

This order is part of a whole series of orders dated in the 9th or 10th indiction, all written in the same uncial clumsy hand. When specified, the beneficiaries are military men (see Wagner 2001: 34).

For a receipt involving the same Abraam and Agathemeros, see O.Douch II 61. Isak tesserarius is probably the same as in O.Douch I 15 (with Agathemeros); 30, 2; 41, 4 (with the optio Abraam).
