Description | O.Douch II 170.15: Payment order. Issued by Horos, diadochos, instructing Peteuris to provide the optio Petros with 5 annona rations of bread. This text is part of approx. 30 payment orders that were issued by the diadochos Horos and were found together, of which 16 were in a state to be published (O.Douch II 170.1-8-9-16 + O.Douch III 192). In two of them, the beneficiary is specified to be the optio Petros (170.11 and here). The signature of Horos bears a distinctive feature in the form of the sigma. According to the editors, the diadochos would be an occasional substitute, perhaps here of the optio Pachmounis. |
