Description | P.Oxy. XLIV 3203: Agreement between two nuns and a Jew. Sheet of papyrus preserving most part of a lease. Two nuns (monachai apotaktikai), Aur. Theodora and Tauris, daughters of Silvanus, from Oxyrhynchos, lease part of a house (exedra and cellar) to Aurelius Jose son of Judas, Jew, from the same city. The property is located in Oxyrhynchos, in the Cavalry Camp quarter. The text is written along the fibres by a professional scribe. There is a cross before the kuria clause (l. 24). The subscription of Aur. Jose was written by Aur. Elias, who states that Aur. Jose is illiterate. Verso is blank. |
