Description

I.Oasis p. 66 no. 7; SB XX 14853; SEG XXXVIII 1703: Visitor's inscription.

Centred in the top of a niche, the same Kyros as in I.Oasis p. 64 no. 3 left this other inscription where we learn that he is from the nearby Hibis (ʿAyn al-Ṭurba) and that his father, Athanasios, is now dead. "Son" is abbreviated as if a nomen sacrum (υυ with supralinear stroke). See also I.Gebel Teir, p. 15 no. I, 6  and I.Gebel Teir p. 19 no. I, 16.

Chapel 65, one of the oldest square domed type (type 4), opening west. All walls are whitewashed over a fine layer of mud but the dome is left without plaster.
